ABOUT THE WRITER

In a reasonably clean apartment bedroom, Matt Maben sits at his desk frustrated.

He’s trying to think of reasons why businesses should hire him but can’t find the right words.

Matt: “Why don’t I just write about what I want to do?”

On a blank piece of paper, he begins to write out a list:

  1. I want to make cool shit things.

  2. I want people to enjoy my work.

  3. I wan—

Suddenly, a deep, familiar voice interrupts Matt's writing.

It's Morgan Freeman, and he starts narrating. Matt begins to listen intently.

Morgan Freeman: “What Matt fails to realize is that he is missing the point entirely. No one really cares about what he wants. They want to know what he can do for them.”

“Thanks... Mr. Freeman.”

Matt says, as his confusion quickly turns to ambition. He reaches for a blank piece of paper and begins to write.

“I constantly seek to push the boundaries of my creative abilities. Whether I'm thinking visually or writing creatively, I believe my work has the power to change minds and create meaningful connections.”

The screen fades to black, accompanied by the smooth sounds of jazz music.
